hi manfred: that is the method that i use and your mail confirmed that what i
was doing was right. as you explained i use the default text file of odd gunnar
malin and change the settings in the fritz the interface when i load the
chessmaster engine. i did not then reply as it confirmed what i was doing was
correct.

i hope this satisfies your query
