i keep the f7 gui on my machine as well as the f8 gui. f7 is way stable and alows me to keep seperate preferences graphically for online play from home play and viewing in f8/s7. f7 also does not seem to have the built in comm hooks which are designed to reconnect a dial-up connection to playchess when it breaks---these reak havoc on my modem settings and sometimes actually disconnect me! f7 interface allows me also to use earlier engines that dont run in f8 interface.
