Thanks > >Rolf Tueschen Hello Rolf, I can't be very specific because it's been a while since I looked it up but I believe it's has to do with pins 2 & 3 crossconnected on the Null modem cable. I once looked it up on the internet to be sure but I've forgotten already. (I'm getting old) It's basically the Tx connected to Rcv pins on each computer. There may also be some minor difference with a common/ground pin as well. It may be under something like the RS232 specs. If you have a soldering iron you can probably take a serial modem cable and change the two pins yourself on both ends of the cable. Problem is some new cables make getting to the pins impossible without practically destroying the connectors. Jim
