Go up one level in this thread

There were no obscenities or expletives in it. In fact, it was quite civil considering that you chose to insult me publicly rather than simply writing to me directly in the first place. and ended it by telling me on his kill list. I even offered him an >apology, which i assume he killed. I saw it, but your near-simultaneous post to this thread make me doubt your "sincerity". >that's probably why my last post about him takes on such a sarcastic tone >althouggh i am sure he is a good person in other respects. Not at all. I'm a well-known jerk and curmudgeon -- which I have also been very open about in T-Notes. Do searches on the CBUSA T-Notes page for the words "jerk" and "curmudgeon" -- I'm sure they'll come right up. >chessbase usa has not been good about responding my emails lately anyway >whenever i have had a question relating to a purchase which was unfulfilled, i >had to phone them to get an appropriate response after a 40 day wait. i know >this is not steve's fault in any way, but i astounded how quickly he reacts when >I grouse publicly. The grouse wasn't about the company. It was a personal attack on me and quite deliberate -- no one with a junior high school kid's reading skills could have misread that article in the way you pretended to. So don't be "astounded". The video card rant was intended as good advice to people contemplating upgrading their machines. I was given a card for Christmas which (according to *numerous* complaints on Interrant message boards) is possibly the *only* brand of card which won't work on my machine. Had I done the research before attempting to install it, I'd have saved myself a ton of hassle. But the problem with the card was in no way due to a lack of expertise on my part, nor was I whining or "begging for help". If you'll go back and reread the article a bit more *carefully*, you'll see that I easily sorted the problem by purchasing a card from another manufacturer -- and did so *prior* to writing that article. And you are correct in one regard -- I'm not involved in sales or shipping, so I have no direct influence over these areas. >if anyone here can tell me how to unlock the Nov '02 upgrade to chessbase8 I >will be most appreciative. thanks in advance, marc If it's an .IUP file, put it in your ChessBase folder and run the IUpgrade.exe which is also in that folder. You're welcome. See how easy that could have been? -- Steve Lopez
