The Shredder Classic GUI shows that the line with Bb5 had 12 wins,39 draws & 21 losses. So the line is avoided simply because it seems to have lost more games than it won. It's interesting to note that even though the Nxd4/Qxd4 moves have quesion marks Shredder 7 will play one or the other after thinking for a while. I believe the point is that Shredder never intends to get into this position to begin with. Jim
