Ken Thompson was stopped by government officials when embarking to Russia with Belle for the World Chess Computer Championship. The officials claimed his machine could be used for other means than playing chess. Thompson was adamant that the idea was ludicrous. Finally one official asked whether there was no conceivable way it could be used as a weapon. He responded that perhaps if it was dropped out of an airplane it might kill someone. :-) My memory of the exact details may be off, but that's as I remember it. Albert > >Cheers, >pavs
