How much worth is knowing how your opponent plays?

Well, for me, when I started playing against Deep Fritz 7, 99% of the time I
lose. After hundreds of games, I now know how it plays; I was able to cut my
losses by 50%  (not that I was beating it, but drawing against it.)

If Kasparov knows how Deep Blue plays and as a result have confidence in his
play, at worst he would have drawn the match.
