Tony, My '60 ELO for a 15th ply' is based on Ernst Heinz' latest self-play experiments where he shows slowly decreasing returns from 'an extra ply'. EH's experiment was with Fritz, tailored with the help of Chessbase to take out some Fritz-specific features and perhaps be more characteristic of chess-engines generally. I don't bring any considerations of the fact that it is playing a human into this. g
