Fresh installation are ussually optimum installation IMO. By the way, you didn't mention which processor you are using, (ie, PIV), comparing two differant type of computers is a mistake. If he is using AMD and you are using PIV, chances are his one is faster, regardless of what operating system and kind of installation you did. Cheers, pavs
