Yes, because his pawn´s c4 and c6 are on the light squares and white has a blacksquare bishop.So the rule say exchange the pieces and play a comfortable endgame.Playing different is against the logic of chess.Bareev can´t play against the logic of chess as a good player.Hiarcs had played with the exchangevariation of the french for a draw. So the programers have a problem with the french defence and it is not solved. Greetings TL
