Yes, Fritz 8 often hangs on a WIN XP system. I thought the problem was large
hash tables.

"My system has 1 gig. of RAM. Using 640 MB or RAM for the hash table, Fritz
8 frequently hangs, more often in "infinite analysis" mode than in "Deep
Position
Analysis" though it happens there too.
Has anyone else had similar problem with very large hash tables?"

But on second thought, the problem is problably WIN XP, since I don't have
any problems on a WIN 98 SE system.

I believe that Fritz 8 has not been properly optimized for WIN XP.
