Go up one level in this thread

Is a fresh installation and actually i am working to set a dual boot machine
(win 98 and xp) so i can have some fixed parameters (hardware).

About the PC, i mentioned the Athlon 1 GHz CPU is by AMD with asus mobo and 700
Mb Ram.
Friends of mine tested the following hardware in win 98

                   HASH kn/s FRITZMARK
Pentium3 400 MHz 144MB 199 284
AMD 700 MHz 192MB 370 514
AMD 1400 MHz 68MB 763 1.104
AMD 1400 MHz 163MB 740 1.040
AMD 1400 MHz 192MB 716 1.008

My preliminary results with Athlon 100 in winxp were:

AMD 1000 MHz 192MB 287 400

incredibly less than a 700 MHz.

So I decided to use fixed hardware (mine) to chech any differences in OS.
Appreciate any comment about these preliminary results.
