COMP GALILEI - GM Antochin Baku 1980 1:0 This was a typical game where the GM "helped" the program to win. First of all he played Nf6 and tolerated Nf5 when he had to go back to Qf8! Then instead of Nxe2 he could have played c5 but he simply didn't do it. It's a game that could well be played today between comps and say GM Smirin, Gulko - just take any Russian GM you can find all over the world. Making money is so normal for them without ever having to answer any questions. Don't hold your breath that strong GM from the underdevelopped "West" are invited because that would ruin the status of the players. At least if they "helped". The draw recently between Fritz and GM Huebner was a shame. As if Huebner wanted to speak with two tongues. To the fellow experts: "Look, what I can do with the machine, it wins not a single game. But honestly I'm almost disgusted having to play such a thing that is so stupid. I don't even want to win against it." (To make this absolutely clear Huebner published a whole page long article in the most important German newspaper "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung" where he wrote his proof why chess machines are absolute fools in chess; I reported the main details in certain newsgroups and had huge amount of responses.) And to the marketing department of ChessBase and the many laymen in the World: "Look, I'm the best German GM after the war and in my games against the sensational Fritz I was UNABLE to win a single game. You see how strong this program is. Buy it, it's as strong as GM!" Rolf Tueschen
