I think that if they said no one gets an appearance fee. You get so much for a win -- $100,000, a loss $15,000 and a draw $50,000 you would see a lot more passion and tension in the match. We all hear, "This is for the human race" "Humanity is resting on my shoulders" blah,blah,blah. Not much motivation when you're getting 70-80% of the money right from the get go. Take it all away and everyone starts from scratch and then there is a lot MORE motivation because you either go in glory and riches or you go home wearing just a barrel with straps.
