Just limit the opening moves to 15 or so, and let the >engine/hardware take over. A new option, and a good one. it is not necessary to create special books now. You can do engine tournaments with a common book like Fritz8.ctg and limit the moves to 5 or 6. The engines wont play openings like 1.e4 d5 2.exd5 Qxd5 3.Sc3 Qe6+ and they would vary.
