Subject: Why do UCI engines keep locking up in Fritz 8?

I have a problem in that most of the UCI engines in Fritz 8 keep locking up when
I go to play a rated game within Fritz 8. Does anyone know why this keeps
happening? This is disconcerting as one, I cannot play against the engine in a
rated match and two, I have to then cancel the match and then I automatically
lose the game which costs me rating points.
