I don't think that's right actually. If I've modified a GPLed program, I can distribute one version to MrX, and another version to MsY. By distributing a version to MrX, I am not under any obligation to give the source code for that version to MsY (but I must make it available to MrX, of course). The key thing about the GPL in this case is that I could not prevent *MrX* from distributing the version I sent to him to MsY. In this case, the obligation to provide the source code would be MrX's. I *believe* that this is correct, but I'd be interested to know if it isn't. Andrew
