Hello Harpo,
I believe John Merlino can give you better info on this but I seem to remember
that some of the ratings were done vs USCF players and then other created
personalities were played automatically to determine their ratings.  The problem
I rember about this was that the games were like 10min + 5 sec/move.  If that is
true then in my opinion the ratings are only accurate for that time control.
However I have never run a tournament with the personalities to see if the
ratings hold up at longer time controls.
