Well, they put the story in the technology section.  That has to mean something.

What IS technology?  Is it really wrong to call the development of chess engines
a technological development?

The so-called entertainment industry does use modern technology.  The special
effects were not possible during the early days of the movie [not movei]
industry.

Technology can be fun.
