Here is a CM9000 personality I created that seems to want to sometimes play in a style similar to Deep Junior. Take that with a few kilograms of salt, of course. It does have an aggressive style that seems to like uneven exchanges where the human must exercise good judgement as to what constitutes "compensation". Here are the CM9000 GUI parameters to create this personality: Attacker/Defender -14 Strength of Play 100 Material/Positional 30 Randomness 0 Max Search Depth 99 Selective Search 11 Contempt for Draw 0.0 Transposition Table 64 MB (on my machine anyway) Pondering ON Use Endgame Databases YES Own Control of Center 101 Opposing Control of Center 101 Own Mobility 105 Opposing Mobility 105 Own King Safety 150 Opposing King Safety 150 Own Queen 8.9 Opposing Queen 8.9 Own Rook 4.9 Opposing Rook 4.9 Own Bishop 2.8 Opposing Bishop 2.8 Own Knight 2.8 Opposing Knight 2.8 Own Pawn 0.8 Opposing Pawn 0.8 All other settings are default values. It's not Junior 8 (or Deep Junior 8) of course. It does seem to have a somewhat similar style though and predicts many of DJ 8's moves in the Kasparov match (such as ... Bxh2 in Game 5). Then again, it misses a lot of them too. I have not played this personality against other programs to see how it fares. Others can do so if so inclined. Roy
