Many felt that Kramnik did not do his best in his match with DF, due perhaps to a general feeling that chess engines are just not that good yet. But now, after watching the Kasparov vs DJ match, it's not so clear. Kasparov seems to have done his best and not deliberately drawn the match. [At least, that's the way is seems to me.] DJ and DF are comparable programs. Both matches were played on more or less comparable computers. The implication is inescapable. The top multiprocessor PC chess engines have equaled the top human chess GMs in slow chess. Agree? Bob D.
