We are coming to a time, in the not to distant future where, when a draw is the best that can be achieved against a computer program! If this statement is true, then how do we know if the program is playing a perfect game? Or,the best game that we can program? I have followed computer chess from almost the beginning, from the early Fidelity days to now at 3 million moves processed per second, plus! From the almost simple programs to the massive computer programs and data bases we have today. Human kind has come a long way in a short time in chess programing. I wonder if by programing enough chess knowledge into the program, that if we turned off the opening book, that the program would be able to develope it's own opening book, teaching us new lines never before seen, right from the very first move! I for one, like talking programs, with a sense of humor! Perhaps one with an "adult mode", so you can get a real ear full, lololol Earl
