 He should have played on for sure. But in practice it will almost always win
for white. 1... Kf5 is another try for the draw. It seems impossible that the
king will do anything positive. But it can possibly shoulder the other king into
the corner. I had another team game today. It also ended in a rook endgame with
a pawn  more. After a lot of manouvering. This win was a lot simpler because
black  was exposed in a bad way:
[D]8/1R6/4r2p/P3kpp1/8/6PP/5PK1/8 w - - 0 1
How he managed to get to move forty form the following position is a function of
me being a tad rusty:
[D]r3r1k1/pp3ppp/2nB4/q1PQ4/8/5N1P/Pb2BPP1/R4RK1 b - - 2 1
