Subject: Kasparov's Grandmaster Intuition May Have Been Correct

Author: Dana Turnmire

Date: 09:54:19 02/09/03

I let Genius 7 play out game six between Kasparov and Deep Junior. The result
is a win for white. I believe Kasparov really was intimidated by the machine.
Up until now I have always been skeptical as to whether the current PC programs
really played at the grandmaster level but now there seems to be no doubt left.
No one will convince me that Kasparov did not want to win that match.

The only thing that puzzles me is why someone like Edward Nemeth can defeat
these programs but a top grandmaster has such a hard time. Why would Kasparov
or any other grandmaster not use anti-computer play in such a match?

Genius 7 starts analyzing after 28.f4 at 40/2hours on an AMD 1800+ where a draw
was agreed upon.
