The thread is about ChessBase 8, a comprehensive chess database program, and Chess Assistant 7 is very fully featured competitor in this respect, well worth looking at: http://www.chessassistant.com If you just want to play engine-engine matches between the Chessbase engines, then you surely just use the GUI supplied with the engine you bought, and don't even need to purchase ChessBase 8.
