For the rest "normal" people watched and said "gosh, >how interesting, a world champion playing a computer." If they were watching, the must have had some sort of interest in the game - even if, for some, it was only a passing interest. Even at only a low level of interest, I feel sure that they will not have been impressed by the premature draw. They will have, wrongly, assumed that they were watching some sort of competition. >Don't mix your own obsession with computer chess with the casual interest of >those millions watching. > >> >>People everywhere will be tossing aside chess - and "getting a life". >> >>-g > > >Very healthy, given your hyped reaction. Thank goodness at least those people >have the capability to relativate. I'm not sure that "relativate" is a correct English word - but I know what you mean. Speaking for myself (and other people I know), I had been looking forward to this match for a long time. In the European time zones, the games were on very late - so I had to sacrifice a lot of sleep to watch them live. Frankly - I'm finding it difficult to "relativate" - I am VERY angry. I, for one, will not be buying a copy of Junior in the foreseeable future. -g
