Ok, looks like the GUI update solved it as system restore didnt help much. I´ll describe the problem so maybe it helps someone: Hardware: Pentium IV 2.4 Ghz + 1 Gbyte DDR + Windows XP Problem: When I load Fritz´s GUI, it automatically loads Fritz 8 (8.0.0.8) with 819 mbytes of hash tables (and it takes a while to load); it doesnt matter if later you set Fritz to load with 64 mbytes of hash tables, next time it´ll load with 819 mbytes again :-( Solution : * Deactivating system restore doesnt help * GUI update solved the problem (http://www.playchess.com/updates/gui8.iup) Thanks for your help!
