I have been looking for some words that constrain the ICGA as to where it holds
its World Championship events.

I do not see any, so perhaps others can tell me where these are.

The reality is that, whereas the ICGA would be delighted to balance out its
geographical presence around the globe, it is guided by financial reality.

The City of Graz has invited the ICGA to hold its (10th) 'Advances in Computer
Games' Conference, and its (8th) Computer Olympiad as part of its programme as
Europe's Capital of Culture for 2003.

It was an enthusiastic and generous invitation which recognised the contribution
which both game-playing and computers have made and are making to our way of
life.

Graz is a historic and beautiful city, and all potential participants can look
forward to being warmly welcomed there.

Of course, the ICGA welcomes sponsors, wherever and at whatever level of
sponsorship: q.v. www.icga.org for details of how to become a member and/or
sponsor.

The ICGA will happily work with anyone with sound ideas for holding a major ICGA
event in America. Initiatives in the Americas have been major contributors to
computer-gaming technique over the years and are so today.

An event in N America is well overdue, and as the Kasparov-DJUNIOR event has
shown [co-sanctioning and rules by the ICGA], the raw competition of game-events
involving computers can be excellent value for their sponsors.
