Maybe the organization of those tournaments >(Continental Chess Association?) is interested in that? You mean that professional organization which asks entry fees of around 300-500 dollar fee to enter a tournament? Even FMs,IMs and GMs have to pay like 300 dollar entry fee there. I speak on behalf of many european computerchess fanatics including ICGA when someone is going to take effort to organize a big event in USA or Edmonton, if it ain't a guy called Peter Skinner or any of his aliases. However the lack of organisations or even companies to host or sponsor such an event is very obvious. That ICGA wants a bunch of dollars for 'organisation costs'. That's their demand. If they manage to get money from a company, then that's their talent. Not ours. You can negotiate with David Levy how much he would need for that. More important than that is the big organisation needed for such a thing. Also the ICGA usually prefers to also host the olympiads. That gives other people than computerchess programmers a chance to show their software. The 2 events together is a big thing to organize. It's a peanut for those who are used to organize human events. But i am sure that Levy is heaven compared to the organisation you just quoted. >Regards, >Miguel
