From http://www.net-magic.net/users/w4fok/XP_DOS.htm: Running DOS programs in the Windows XP (and similar) environment ----------------------------------------------------------------------- First, remove from the A drive the Program Disk you created and put it aside. You will use it in a few minutes. The instructions below apply to Windows XP users, but the same or a similar scheme should work for the other new Windows systems that do not provide a means to run DOS programs from the Desk Top, nor provide a means to "Reboot to MS-DOS". These new systems do, however, provide a means to create a Startup Disk, which allows the user to boot the computer to MS-DOS. The following information was found on the Internet, and is apparently taken from the XP Help files. Although the information was given with respect to Windows XP, the same scheme should work with the programs mentioned above. It is quick and simple. Creating an XP Startup disk for booting to MS-DOS (The MS-DOS startup disk you create will allow you to boot to MS-DOS but contains no additional tools.) Insert a floppy disk into your computer's floppy drive. All of the information on the disk, if any, will be erased. Go to "My Computer". Right click on the A Drive and then click on Format. Under Format options, click "Create an MS-DOS Start-up Disk". Click Start. and the DOS Start-up Disk will be created.
