Stu, there is a world of difference. I am back to my roots, that is the amateur
status making a chess program that plays stronger and stronger this without any
commercial obligations, no more pressure to perform, no more commercial
activities, no more user email, no more web-page updates and and and.....just do
it out of pleasure again.

The internet is a great thing, it also has a dark side. I started with the Rebel
Home Page back in 1995, while the years passed the internet became more
important each year commercially speaking. People started to order directly from
Rebel Company instead of from their local dealer.

The work involved increased and increased and raised to an unacceptable high
level in the sense there hardly was any time left for chess programming.
Especially the last 3-4 years I felt more like a full-time manager than a chess
programmer, things had become out of balance.

Last year I realized I couldn't continue this way, that my health is more
important than working 12-14 hours a day. A certain tragic in the family made me
decide once and for all as my family needed much of my time suddenly.

So when you ask me "what is the difference" then I answer, I have my life and
hobby back.

My best,

Ed
