Another good use for VMware is with tablebase generation.  I'm generating the
CM9k tablebases right now, but can't let it run non-stop until it finishes (many
days on an 866mhz) and I'm also too lazy to split up the batch file and run each
set manually.  So instead, I run the makeall batch file under VMware at night,
and then suspend it in the morning, then resume it at night, etc.  It starts and
stops without a hitch.
