I figured that some might want to run engines against each other using the same
opening books. Or use an engine with a specific book they have. But if there is
no standard, I have to rely on being able to convert common formats to my
specific format.

If there already was tools for coverting to for example pgn or text I wouldn't
have to reinvent the tool but only need to comply to some general or popular
format.
