I tried a WHOIS lookup on the IP address 207.230.79.2 which is the one that reports "Destination net unreachable", when I try to ping ftp.cis.uab.edu. This is what turned up: [Server: whois.arin.net] OrgName: Mann Travels Address: 6010 Fairview Rd suite 104 City: Charlotte StateProv: NC PostalCode: 28210 Country: US Comment: RegDate: 1997-03-11 Updated: 1997-03-11 # ARIN WHOIS database, last updated 2003-02-13 20:00 # Enter ? for additional hints on searching ARIN's WHOIS database. Seems to me that there is something very wrong with the routing here?? What on earth is Mann Travel doing with my Ping packets (Dropping them, obviously ;-) Something very strange is happening here. If someone could find out if this company is a DeltaCom customer, we might solve this mystery yet. Somebody please help!! Greetings Dan Wulff (The Gandalf Team)
