It will most probably transpose into some other lines that will be familiar to the other player. I love it when lower rated players opt out of their normal repertoire and play unfamiliar openings. Last weekend my opponent played the Petroff to try to draw. He did not have much knowledge of the theory and was soon in a very bad way. Better is to have a solid setup that you know how to play well. And where you are familiar with the positional types. Colle is one such system that I would reccommend to players less interested in theory. Colle like systems even work against Indian setups. It doesn't promise much but is solid enough and has some play. MvH Dan Andersson
