Fischer represents a time (a period - just like Paul Murphy). That time has passed and cannot be reproduced. This is new time with new chalanges. In 1972 Fischer did the impossible: beating the russian machine (of that time). He is the reason several young americans started to play chess. Again, that time has passed. Long live that time. NMB
