i wonder if someone can let me know how a commercial company which sells LINUX
(eg red hat)is any different fom someone selling EGTB on e bay. i thought both
of the above (eg linux) as well as nalimov EGTB are freeware and hence cannot be
sold at all.

my understanding was that the commercial companies can do so because they they
have packaged the product togehether; provide instructions/support on
installation and maintenance;

te person selling the EGTB may only be profiting on the fact that he has taken
the trouble to download and verify all the files; ensure that they are not
corrupt and install and work properly and provide instructions on installation
and any file modifications that maybe necessary; and provide evryhing in a neat
and convenient package. he could quite legitimately claim that he is providing
all the EGTB files completely free

till i actually had broadband i found it impossible to ever download any of the
files and had considered buying the entire 12 CD set from either gambit soft or
convecta (who were providing an identical service). i had in fact placed an
order with gambitsoft (as it so happened they were in the process of going bust
so i did not actually spend any money)
