Yes, test hex1.eng as much as you like. I'm sure there are better settings than
hex1

Just have not tested all the new stuff yet, but I will.

The three good styles I came up with using Rebel XP for dos all defeated
Rebel.eng. I was looking for a stronger opponent, so used the style Ed suggested
as best(others requested this through email as well).

If you share an engine setting that you would like to test against hex1 I will
test it on my 2400+ machine. I would like to find a stronger Rebel personality
than hex1.eng.
