It's like a "unification" fight in boxing. There are currently two claims to the
world championship of chess. FIDE and the "private title", which is held by
Kramnik. So they're going to settle this nonsense and have a little tournament.
Kasparov is going to play Ponomariov, and Kramnik is going to play Leko. The
winners of the two matches will play each other for the "world championship". I
think it would be great fun to see Ponomariov and Leko play :) But that is
probably not likely, and Kasparov will win it back.
