See www.sjeng.org and http://www.lokasoft.nl/uk/deepsjengintro.htm Deep Sjeng is a "normal chess" playing program. It comes with the Locasoft GUI but can be easily pluged into Chessbase/Fritz, Winboard, Arena and other interfaces. This, the up-to-8-processor-support, and the included linux version make it more flexible than other commercial chess programs. The reason you might have thought that Sjeng is "some sort of variant game" is that older Sjengs support chess variants (Suicide chess, crazyhouse chess..) very well. See at http://sjeng.sourceforge.net/indexold.html Georg On February 19, 2003 at 23:41:53, Chris Kantack wrote: >A chess retailer may be offering me a copy of Deep Seng 1.0 soon.
