The water cooling does sound nice. Perhaps even without the overclocking. But
unless I were to overclock I doubt I would have need for it. Certainly the
system runs within safe operational temperatures as it is. Even if I were to
overclock 10% I would not add anything but_maybe_larger fans. I am certainly not
opposed to mild overclocking and never meant to give the impression that I was.
I am opposed to clocking 2.5 GHz machines to nearly 4 GHz and I am more than
sure that there are many knowledgable people here who would agree that these
systems are not the most stable in the world. At our current level of cpu
manufacturing technology we are getting the fastest results possible from
factory processors without exceeding the processors operational design limits.
Perhaps all overclocked processors are not unstable but a certain degree of them
are and when you have to start cooling your processor with freon I think it's
time to say stop. After all, with one slip the cooling system can drop out and
fry the processor. I'll just stick to my factory setting and be secure in my
mind that when I need to ask my computer a mathematical question it will give me
the correct answer. I may get the answer a few nanoseconds slower than the
overclocker but it will be right 100% of the time.
