I found the following nice quote by Vladimir Kramnik on the ChessBase site. I hope Amir is not to modest to object against my quoting it here: "I was surprised that a computer can understand and play such moves. Several decisions which the computer made were really very surprising for me. Really good, deep positional decisions. I saw that Junior has improved a lot. Of course the computer usually can calculate better than any human in the world, but there was always the problem with positional play. But now I see that the positional play of the computer is getting better and better." From my impressions as a beta tester, I might add that especially at faster time controls (blitz and action chess), Junior gets impressive scores against other computers (I didn't have many chances to try it against humans other than myself) and does so in an aesthetically pleasant way. (see also the "welcome" games posted by Dirk Frickenschmidt to get an impression about playing strength on P200MMX at tournament time controls). Junior definitely is one of the very strongest programs around, it might even get well ahead of Fritz 5 on the SSDF list. Now it's up to Hiarcs 7 and Rebel 10 to pick up the challenge. Moritz
