The Chessbase sysops have informed me that many of the issues are addressed in
the patch above. Also Chessbase is expected to release a GUI update in the very
near future. The Fritz8 GUI does have some other nice features not found in the
Deep Fritz 7 version. Notably in the Advanced Options of the Engine area. You
can now set your program to play only a specific opponent and you can also limit
the number of consecutive games that someone plays you. This could be useful if
you were away from the computer and your opponent found a weakness in your book
and was draining your elo. :-))
