If you setup Yace with the WinBoard adapter it is likely that 1 0 is just too
fast for it.
Try some 2 0 games to see if it works better. I would advise to set it up as an
UCI engine anyway though.

This is possible - some versions of the UCI.dll were quite buggy. Try
downloading the latest one from
http://www.chessbase.de/download/index.asp?cat=UCI%2DEngines and see if it works
better.
To my experience this version still has some problems - an old version 1.0.0.10
runs most stable for me, but it isn't availlable for download.

Yes, you can. But it can't be done in the Fritz GUI. You have to create a file
yace.ini, put it in the same directory as the yace.exe and put
bbp=C:\bitbases

in it (change C:\bitbases to the directory where you have saved the bitbases).
If you have them in the same directory as yace.exe you can simply put bbp= .
