Someone posted a link here a while ago, to a place that showed Kasparovs rating
was actually deflated. It showed that because of "errors" in the Elo model
higher rated players in general needs to over achieve to keep their rating when
playing lower rated players, likewise it is easier to gain rating by playing
higher rated players.
He did a calculation that showed Kasparov got cheated out of 15 Elo last year
because the model is not good enough. Kasparov is probably underrated, relative
to his true strength!
