I have some doubts that the germans themselves understand the Fasching mentality :o), at least not in regions where the call it Fastnacht, or Carneval. I'm living in a neighbour country to Germany, in Austria (where the *real* Fasching is, more or less unlimited in time). When I was a child, many hours of german Fastnacht celebrations were shown on Austrian TV. I think I'm still suffering from the horror. (To be honest, I also don't watch our local versions of that type of "humor"...) Regards, M.Scheidl
