I understand now my mistake was 'tbldir e:\egtb' in yace.ini. I changed the path and it installs as UCI engine in Fritz 8 (Help/About date of 030221) perfectly, even with yace.ini present. Everything else was as extracted from Yace_Pb.zip. Thanks, Brian
