Pichard, Yes I too remember. I think there were 5 files that could be dispensed with. Some of which started with 'mfc' and I think shlwapi.dll was one also. I would have to look in the Fritz 8 folder to see if that practice continues. (Jouni, you might have a peek in there and try appending a .bac extention to such files if they are present). Regards, BK
