The usefullness of your hashtable depends on the number of nodes that is searched The longer/deeper positions are analyzed the more usefull a hash is. So the strength increase is not lineair but drops slowly and stays probably stable at a certain point. To much hashing for a computer hurts a lot since computers will swap then memory to disk and using it is very slow.
