I was "lucky" since I had both Fritz 8 and Shredder 7. When I first got them I did a full installation of Fritz 8, but I only installed the Shredder 7 engine. Playchess wouldn't update Fritz 8 for me, so I did a full installation of Shredder 7 to a different drive. (ie, I didn't have to delete my original installation). Then I went into Playchess, I got the update, I copied the update file gui8.iup to my Fritz 8 folder, then I updated Fritz 8, then I uninstalled Shredder 7. Sheesh! All that trouble.....
